Welcome back!

Hey everybody, a new semester is upon us and it’s time to watch some films!

We will be meeting at 7:00 in room 3226 in UIC’s Art and Design Hall.

Next Wednesday, Sept. 1st we will be screening Jacques Tati’s comedy masterpiece Playtime. (ON BLU-RAY!)

-Playtime follows Tati’s famous character Monsieur Hulot as he bumbles through modern Paris. Shot on 70mm film and produced on large backlot sets, Tati’s masterpiece practically bankrupt him, but made his film a classic. As in his other films, Playtime is made up of subtle visual comedy and minimal dialogue.

also, September is an amazing month at the Gene Siskel Center. Check out the Cine-file list for all the best films being screened in Chicago.

See you Wednesday night!
